Remastered Settings & Accessibility

Choose practical settings for exploration, looting, combat and the Bard’s Ballad preset.

Reviewed October 4, 2026 · Remastered 5.x

Start with the settings that affect your playthrough

Open Accessibility and review Bard’s Ballad before changing your build to solve a comfort problem. The preset is adjustable: decide which mechanics you want to keep, and check the individual toggles after applying it.

Keep difficulty, enemy upscaling and accessibility choices in mind when comparing builds. A damage test on one setup is not a reliable measure of another setup.

Bard’s Ballad options

OptionWhat to consider
Vitality regenerationAdjust the activation threshold and recovery rate.
Infinite BreathUseful when diving and exploring underwater.
Unlimited Item DurabilityRemoves routine equipment wear from your repair budget.
Unlimited Boat DurabilityUseful for long Skellige sailing trips.
Ignore Item WeightCarry spare loot without managing encumbrance.
Faster BoatsShortens travel between island destinations.
Toggle Witcher SenseToggle the input instead of holding a button.

Looting and exploration

In Gameplay, look for nearby-loot grouping and the loot feed. Grouped loot reduces repeated interactions, while the feed helps you check what you just collected. You can also loot from horseback.

Use map filters when planning a route. A hidden marker category is not evidence that its locations are unavailable. In Video → Interface, review the minimap options for herbs, boats and corpses.

Camera and controls

Try the exploration and dynamic combat camera choices in a familiar area before tackling a difficult encounter. Adjust horse input sensitivity separately if Roach feels difficult to steer.

To leave a fight, hold the dodge input to release target lock, then sprint away. Check your own bindings rather than assuming default buttons.

Change one setting at a time if you are identifying what helps. Keep a note of preferred values before experimenting with another preset.
