Where to Reforge
Yoana and Hattori offer Reforge. Complete their master-craftsman quest lines if their full services are unavailable: Master Armorers for Yoana at Crow’s Perch, and Of Swords and Dumplings for Hattori in Novigrad.
Equip the item you want to change before opening Reforge. The menu builds its list from equipped items, so a spare sword sitting in your inventory may not appear as a target.
Unlock and choose a look
Collect equipment or its crafting diagram to expand your appearance collection. Choose the equipped piece, select an unlocked appearance in the same equipment category, then check the preview and total price before confirming.
The supported categories in the current menu are chest armor, gloves, trousers, boots, steel swords, silver swords and crossbows. A steel-sword appearance does not become a silver-sword appearance. Internal body meshes are excluded.
A cosmetic choice changes appearance rather than combat stats. Blood and Wine dyes already applied to equipment carry through Reforge. The dye system still applies to eligible witcher gear; Reforge does not make every armor piece dyeable.
How the price works
The current menu calculates a price from the equipment category and the chosen appearance’s quality. The confirmation screen is the amount to use when budgeting; there is no single flat price for every piece.
| Action | Price behavior |
|---|---|
| Choose a different appearance | Category and appearance quality determine the charge. |
| Restore the original appearance | The script applies a reduced restoration charge. |
| Select the already applied appearance | No new appearance charge. |
If an appearance is missing
- Check that you actually acquired the equipment or diagram. Seeing it in a shop is not the same as owning it.
- Select the correct category and equip the target item.
- Check expansion ownership and account-reward requirements for the look you want.
- Appearance console codes on this site target entities; they are a different system from Geralt’s Reforge collection.
