Remastered Maps & Exploration Guide

Plan routes, understand quest markers and use the website maps alongside your in-game journal.

Track quests from the game map

Remastered distinguishes untracked quests and lets you select their markers to track them. When a destination seems missing, check the active quest, region and filters first.

Use nearby objectives to plan a trip, but check story cutoffs before postponing a quest. A short route is not worth losing a quest you wanted to experience.

Using the website maps

Choose White Orchard, Velen & Novigrad, Skellige, Kaer Morhen or Toussaint. Search for a named location, toggle categories in the legend, and open a marker for its description. On a small screen, use the marker panel to access filters.

The website maps combine community locations with additions from Remastered world data. Their markers are a planning reference, not a live view of your save. They cannot know which chests you looted, which quest phase is active, or which signposts you discovered. Static world points have been compared; inherited and quest-generated markers still need further reconciliation.

Fast travel and world coordinates

The separate fast-travel database lists named signposts and world coordinates from the installed game. Those coordinates differ from the normalized positions used by the website’s map images. Do not paste a website map coordinate into a teleport command.

Console teleportation is not the same as unlocking a signpost. Coordinate commands can depend on the current world and place Geralt in unsafe terrain; keep experiments on a separate save.

Exploration checklist

  • Read local notice boards and review your journal before leaving a settlement.
  • Collect the first-use ability point at each Place of Power.
  • Use the relevant oil and check your build before a guarded-treasure fight.
  • For Skellige routes, consider the swimming and boat options in Accessibility.
  • Compare an unexpected marker with the game map. Community descriptions can reflect older levels or quest states.
